In
this WebQuest fourth grade students research the Hohokam Indian culture, specifically how they used
irrigation/canal systems to provide water for their crops. The students will
then write a summary about how to get water from a river to their fields using
irrigation canals. They will design a model showing how to get water from a
river to a field of crops using irrigation canals. They will present their
model to the class, describing how the whole system works.

For this WebQuest
you will need these things:
1.
A computer for
each student. I’d recommend a lab type setting.
2.
A printer so the
students can print a copy of the Hohokam Irrigation

them to learn how to print these on their own.
3. For the irrigation model project you will need to decide which one of
the following you want the students to do and help them gather the necessary
materials.
Presentation Options:
a.
Drawing/Map
b.
