Introduction

The original 1878 building at McFarland State Park is a traditional adobe brick structure. Adobe structures are among the oldest buildings on the earth. This type of construction was introduced by the Spaniards to Arizona in the 16th century. There are both advantages and disadvantages to adobe constructions.
