Webquests
The webquests listed below are compliments of the Cultural Academy for Middle School Teachers, 2006. During the summer, a group of outstanding middle-grade teachers from within Pinal County participated in the summer series hosted by Denise Shultz of Casa Grande Ruins National Monument and Christine Opitz of PCESA. The workshop consisted of several visits to cultural destinations within the county so that teachers were able to learn about each historic site, as well as develop lesson-planned webquests for their students for the upcoming school year.
Guided by strands from the Arizona Academic State Standards, each webquest is designed to lead students through a cultural exploration of Pinal County while targeting specific concepts of interest. Designed as a lesson-planned unit, the quests provide students with the means of research and analysis through the internet to offer a more interactive approach to learning.
